Ben retired to the very happy life of a house dog in November 2017 moving up to Peregian Beach. One of the harder decisions to make, is to rehome an older dog. Some of these dogs have been with you for only one year, some of them have been part of the family for several years. This is not an easy task to do, and one we are often heavily judged for. Adult dogs are rehomed for many different reasons. This can include simply because a family came along that would be the perfect fit for a particular dog. This was the case with Ben. It was a really hard day and many tears were shed. It was very hard to let him go, but I knew in my heart, that his new owners were going to be perfect. |
After his first night, I got a text from Ben to tell me how his first night was. It was absolutely beautiful to receive.
He had settled in very well for his first night.
Fast forward to now, Ben is now living the high life at the beach. Sleeping on couches and his owners bed, having coffees at the local cafe where everyone can't help but to pat him. He's even found a new sibling, and a cat at that!
